Evolutionary computation teaching at Birmingham

The article first illustrates the motivations of the author for teaching evolutionary computation and supervising students interested in this field. Then it describes the evolutionary computation course taught by the author at the School of Computer Science of The University of Birmingham (UK) for the last four years (1995-9). Finally, the paper describes the lessons learnt from doing this.
