System considerations on SCPC for digital satellite receivers with direct conversion

Analog front-end receivers for digital satellite reception prefer the direct conversion method which do not use SAW filters. Considerations for single carrier per channel, SCPC, reception are discussed. The author comments on the way in which base band filtering for a direct conversion receiver could be optimized.
