A new wide band printed antenna

This paper presents the characteristics of a new wide band printed microstrip antenna. This antenna is designed to operate in the C-band, with an impedance bandwidth of about 35% around 5GHz for a standing wave ratio (SWR) less than 2. The antenna consists of probe fed segmented patch. A narrow slit is made in the patch around the feed region. Design parameters and results are presented.
