Multiple comparisons and the p-value in evaluation

When evaluating a technique or tool, multiple comparisons are usually made. Physically this is extremely easy with modern computers. Interpretation can be another question. This is an important situation with respect to the observed p-value or level of statistical significance. The evaluation of questions for medical research demonstrates the problems which arise.
