Analysis and design of a high gain and low side-lobe conformai waveguide slots array antenna

Compared with traditional slotted waveguide array, the paper designs a new type of conformal waveguide slot array antenna, which shape is similar to the ladder. The coupling slots control the strength of excitation and compensate the phase difference due to the different location of waveguide. The maximum gain obtains 29.2dB and low side-lobe is suppressed below 19.0dB in the array. The single-layer conformal waveguide slot array is characterized by simpler configuration, smaller longitudinal dimension and lower processing cost. The results of the simulation validate the correctness of this design approach.
