A low cost coplanar waveguide continuous transverse stub phased array antenna using voltage-variable dielectric

A novel coplanar waveguide continuous transverse stub (CTS) phased array antenna using voltage-variable dielectric (VVD) is presented. The proposed antenna employs N phase shifter and N voltage controller for a N×N phased array, which means the proposed approach only needs N+N phase shifter elements for a N×N phased array. The phased array antenna operating at 9.964 GHz is designed, and the beam can be steered by applying the different excitation phase values to the input ports and the different voltage values on the parallel plate stubs.
