Secondary frequency regulation / automatic generation control under deregulated power system along with renewable energy sources using electric vehicle / distributed energy storage systems

In this paper, the traditional automatic generation and control (AGC) two-area system under deregulated environment with distributed renewable (Solar) energy system has been developed. The concept of DISCO participation matrix is used to simulate the poolco based and bilateral contract with contract violation. Also due to intermittent nature of renewable energy sources increases the frequency deviation which further adds to the deviation caused by load variation. In this paper load frequency regulation strategy using grid connected Electrical Vehicle (EVs) for traditional AGC and distributed solar is designed using PI controller.
