Exploration of voltage sag and its mitigation techniques

Voltage sag is a most occurring power system disturbance, generally associated with faults in power system. Therefore the effectual spotting of voltage sag event is an important task for voltage sag anatomizing and ease. There are several detection methods for voltage sags such as Root Mean Square(RMS) voltage finding, peak voltage detection, and Fourier transform methods. Voltage droops are consequential power quality problem the most common and effective method used till now for mitigating the same is dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). The dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) has become popular as a cost efficient result for the protection of sensitive loads from voltage sags. The problem with these methods is that they use a windowing method and can therefore be too lengthy process, which takes much time when used for detecting voltage sag for mitigation since they use historical value, not immediate value which may lead to long detection time when voltage sag has occurred. So there is need to study these all approaches and events to invent something new method to overcome these problems. so the study of voltage sag is the main aim of this paper.
