Study on survivability improvement for airframe hydraulic system based on leakage detection and isolation

External leakage is the main failure mode of airframe hydraulic systems, and which significantly influences the survivability of hydraulic systems. In this paper, the external leakage characteristic of a hydraulic system is described, followed by the analysis methodology of leakage detection. A hydraulic system based on grouping power is proposed, by which the leakage of hydraulic system can be isolated. Finally, experiments have been carried out to verify the research, which show promising results for improving survivability of hydraulic systems based on leakage detection and isolation.
