Braking technique on dual-redundancy differential actuation system

The quick-acting braking is one of the key techniques on dual-redundancy differential actuation system. The permanent magnet brake becomes the preferred option for the dual-redundancy differential actuation system, because of its excellent safety and quick repercussion. The braking and switching mechanism on dual-redundancy differential actuation system is analyzed to identify the influence factors of braking time. The mathematical expressions of the electric response time, armature pull-in time and friction braking time are derived respectively. Based on rigid body dynamics, the kinetic equation of dual-redundancy differential actuation system is derived. Furthermore, the key technologies of the permanent magnetic brake are studied, such as the sliding friction, permanent magnetic force and performance evaluation. The relationship between the micro-gap of brake pair and the permanent magnetic force loss is studied. The verification tests of sliding friction coefficient, permanent magnetic force and emergency braking are designed and accomplished, and the results illustrate the rationality of the analysis. At last, some critical technical issues deserving further research are also pointed out.
