Input-Series and Output-Series connected modular two-switch flyback converters operating in ccm

This paper proposes a modular converter, based on the Input-Series and Output-Series (ISOS) connection of the two-switch flyback converters operating in the Continuous Conduction Mode (ccm), as alternative to reduce the voltage stress across the switches. The self-balance of the input and output voltages among the converters is a required ability in the ISOS connection to simplify the control scheme. Based on the accurate output characteristics behavior of converter, the present paper suggests that the natural voltage balancing mechanism of modular ISOS connection is inherent to the proposed architecture in ccm operation. The stable operation is demonstrated by a theoretical analysis, which is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.
