Abstract:

The aim of this paper was to present examples from measurements utilizing Faraday cages under power lines. We performed experiments with a cage using different nets for the “roof” of the cage: (1) chicken wire without the “roof”; (2) pieces of fish netting; (3) additional fish netting; (4) extra pieces of small animal wire netting; (5) chicken wire on the roof. The grounded Faraday cage decreased the electric field more than 50%.
