Understanding change: echelon approach to characterize spatial structures of change in remote-sensing imagery

Most existing methods for change detection and, more generally, change analysis, aim at providing measurements which can be used to understand the dynamics of phenomena of interest. This paper goes one step further and investigates a method that can be used to characterize the spatial behavior of change.
