Optical cloaking of plasmonic materials through nanoparticles-based metasurfaces

In this contribution, we propose the design of optical metasurfaces able to reduce the visibility of plasmonic microstructures at optical frequencies. The proposed devices, consisting of arrays of properly shaped nanoparticles, are designed exploiting a rigorous analytical model and form realistic examples of optical mantle cloaks for non-dielectric objects. The obtained results, confirmed through full-wave simulations, may pave the way to the application of scattering cancellation-based cloaking to optical devices and components.
