A progress metric for the integration and test of programmable systems

The need for an objective measure of pro gress in completing computer-based system integration tasks is addressed. Work toward determining such a measure for use in tracking progress in the integration of avionics and automatic test equipment is reported. The measure is based on data collected from ATLAS test programs used to control the test equipment. Preliminary results include a trend curve of the characteristic rate of progress exper ienced in test unit integration.
