Design of an automatic test station for field testing of radar units - roland application

Development of an ATE facility for testing radar units in an Army field environment presented many problems which require many design solutions. These solutions, which are being evaluated on pro totype hardware, include, a. Maximum application of commercial instruments with a limited amount of new designs to reduce cost and schedule risk. b. An IEEE control and switching system usable up to 18GHz. c. Resolving unusual interface problems unique to the partitioning of radar circuits among the units tested by the ATE. d. Creation of special signal conditioning cir cuits. e. Minimizing the efforts and logistics of field calibration.
