Cost-effective Fiber-to-the-Home System, and Device Technologies for Multimedia Access Networks

NTT has announced a deployment plan to introduce fiber cables in subscriber access networks. In order to promote the plan, intensive development of the FITH systems and the components is currently being carried out. The most important and difficult problem to overcome is to develop a cost-effective FITH systems to provide both telephone and multimedia services.
