The common air interface (CAI) : the experience gained by France Telecom on three application fields of this european wireless network access standard

After an introduction to the ETSI Standard of the "Common Air Interface" for cordless communication, the present paper gives the example of the Telepoint network which FRANCE TELECOM has built up on the basis of this specification. This also presents the experience gained in operating such a new service.
