Experimental investigations on continuous-tunable optical parametric oscillation(OPO) pumped with a fiber laser

An experimental investigation is carried out concerning continuous-tunable optical parametric oscillation which is pumped with a fiber laser. The fiber laser produces 10~20 ns pulses and 6.2 nm spectral bandwidth with central wavelength at 1062 nm and a repetition rate of 40 KHz. With 5mol% MgO-doped multi periodic poled Lithium niobate(PPMgLN) as nonlinear medium, 1410~1620 nm signal output has been achieved with temperature tunable method. Experiments show that signal spectral bandwidths and power vary with the signal output wavelengths. There exist certain positions where a signal output of broadband signal wave and a signal output of higher power can be achieved respectively.
