Transforming Traditional Performance into New Media Audio Live Performances with Processing

Ping Tan as known as the traditional ballad performance in Suzhou, China. Ping Tan used to perform in ballad with Suzhou dialect and its always performing together with the aesthetics of the traditional ink painting of China as the background of it. Due to the era nowadays, it is better to transform the ink painting of the background into digital form with new media technology. The best way to let the audience experiences the Ping Tan performance is to combine the generative art visual programming element into it by using "Processing". By combining some of the libraries in processing we create kind of some special visual effect that still related with the traditional, bringing the visual to life by real-time reactive from the audio input during performance.
