The Next Step In Automotive Electronic Control

The salient feature of automotive electronics is not merely its ability to replace mechanical functions with electronic systems, but rather its flexibility in effectively joining individual mechanisms together. A wide variety of components employing electronic techniques have been developed and am presently being used in the automobile to meet divem marketplace requirements. A man-machine integrated control system is presented in this paper as the next step in automotive electronic control. In this connection, it is necessary to study ways of managing vehicle dynamics and human factors. In order to improve the relationship between the driver's perceptions and vehicle motion, a subjective control system with a human-like processor is expected to play a large role instead of the conventional objective one. New technologies, such as advanced control theory, artificial intelligence, fuzzy theory and neural networks wffl be employed in this human like processor.
