Implementation of a GUI to visualize EM fields using MATLAB

Solving Maxwell's equations in problems related to electromagnetism is a tedious task, firstly due to high mathematical complexity and secondly due to the existence of resultant electromagnetic (EM) fields which is the combination of electric and magnetic fields that are not easy to visualize and understand. Visualization of electromagnetic waves will aid in the understanding and designing of antenna, fading effects in wireless communication etc. Although many EM simulation software is available in the market for realization of the above but it is inaccessible to most of the users due to higher cost. However, MATLAB is a commonly used software and easily available to us. The authors have created a GUI (Graphical User Interface) using MATLAB to visualize EM fields of electromagnetic waves that are obtained by solving Maxwell's equations. The implemented GUI is used to observe the variation of electric field and magnetic field under different conditions.
