An Innovative finite-time passivity-based control strategy for power management of PV/hybrid storage power system

The operation of stand-alone PV systems require the use of energy storage devices with advanced power management capacities to restrain the fluctuation of dc-bus voltage caused by the stochastic nature of solar irradiance and load resistance. The Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) strategy is used for PV generator to better harness the solar energy. An innovative finite-time of passivity-based control (FT-PBC) is synthesized using the interconnection and damping assignment in order to manage power flow between batteries and ultracapacitors. In the FT-PBC, a new Lyapunov function with fractional power is designed to improve the transient performance of dc-bus voltage based on finite-time stabilization theory. Simulation of PV/hybrid storage system and evaluation of the proposed strategy are accomplished using MATLAB/simulink. The results demonstrate that the robustness of the proposed strategy for load resistance and solar irradiance changes.
