Invalid input data and conformity testing for an object-oriented specification

The objective of this paper is to introduce a new approach that can be used to add detail to a system requirements specification. This technique is based on invalid input values and can help discover problems in system requirements. The principal idea of our work is based on a constraints model and an equivalence partitioning of input domains for programs in the Object Oriented (OO) paradigm for detecting different classes of errors. The main contribution of our approach is the use of invalid data which do not satisfy the precondition constraints for testing the robustness of entities in an OO model. Indeed, the first objective of the proposed work is to develop a theoretical model of constraint in order to test the conformity of classes. The second objective of our approach is to detect anomalies in invalid input data which induce valid output constraints. The implementation of this approach is based on a random generation of test data and analysis by formal proof.
