Principal component analysis of starting pitcher indexes in Nippon professional baseball

In this report, we apply principal component analysis (PCA) to the starting pitcher data of Nippon professional baseball league in 2014 that were composed of 11 typical sabermetrics indexes. We find that the 11 indexes can be summarized with two or three variables by using PCA.
