Carrier-frequency shift and multipath properties of binary M-ary signal design without co-channel interference for uplink in approximately synchronized cellular CDMA

Power control or interference cancellation requires heavy cost for uplink in mobile CDMA systems. So Suehiro proposed a 2-phase or 4-phase signal design for approximately synchronized CDMA systems without co-channel interference. We show the validity of this method by designing binary M-ary CDMA signals without co-channel interference for approximately synchronized cellular mobile communication by using Gold-like sequences as "the basic sequences". Furthermore, the carrier-frequency shift and the multipath properties are simulated. When the carrier frequencies are about 2000 MHz, the signals works almost without co-channel interference under a carrier-frequency shift of 2 kHz. This result of simulation shows the usefulness of the 2-phase M-ary signal design without co-channel interference for approximately synchronized uplink in cellular CDMA systems.
