Security analysis of RGB image encryption based on modified baker map for nanosatellite application

Nanosatellite is a small satellite with minimum dimension of U1 or 10×10×10 cm with weight below 10 kg with specific mission. The only way to transmit the data is through wireless communication. The problem is a third person can easily intercept the data. That's when the Baker Map encryption comes to raise. By scramble the data using baker map method a third party won't understand the data. In this paper Modified block Baker map algorithm has been simulated and measured to give protection to the image data. The modification are done by improving the key of Baker Map method by changing key in every iteration and done the Baker Map method in blocks. The sizes of image were 1600×1200×3. The encryption will be done in 192 blocks of image with size of 1×30000 each. The measurement of the modified Baker Map shows that the modified Baker Map still need an improvement in its key sensitivity and avalanche effect. The Modified baker map has a good noise immunity and good coefficient correlation with average of 0.01833 from 10 data. By increasing the key space, time needed to crack the baker map method with block size of 100×100 by brute force attack is improve from 4.024 × 10
