Perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary conditions for the method of lines modeling scheme

The perfectly matched layer device for the absorption of electromagnetic radiation is incorporated with the method of lines numerical scheme. Examples are given that show the superior performance in comparison with numerical absorbing boundary conditions.
