An improved variable structure control of a shunt active filter

In this paper, the authors present a new method of a shunt active filter control. In contrast to the conventional control techniques. With the proposed variable structure control, the switching patterns are generated directly by transforming the controller outputs in /spl alpha//spl beta/ frame with selecting an optimum digital switching table. Simulation results obtained with the Saber program are presented to verify the dynamic and the steady-state performances of the controller design. In addition, the controller achieves a significant reduction of the switching frequency.
