A Suite of Software Tools for Executing Formal Specifications

This paper presents a suite of tools that have been implemented - to facilitate the execution of formal specifications written in the non-executable Z language. Such tools assist the system developer towards ensuring whether the functional requirements as specified (in Z) are reflected in the implementation (in Prolog). The specification technique used in this work is explained with an example specification. The transformation of some Z specifications into Prolog are provided using our development environment. The limitations of our approach and further work in this area are addressed.
