Height power estimation with Radio Environment Database in urban area

In this paper, we discuss a prediction model of the received power depending on the receiver antenna height in urban environments. In a spectrum sharing, while Secondary User (SU) can reuse the licensed band of Primary User (PU), SU has the limitation not allowed to cause interference. So the technique of recognizing surrounding radio environment is necessary. Propagation model plays a key role of supporting SU to correctly evaluate the received power of the PU system. The model can help to determine the interference toward PU's system. However, conventional propagation models may cause large error in urban environment. Though it is possible to make a estimation in a real environment with measurement based Database at ground level of the receiver location point, the measurement in higher altitude is difficult. Then a propagation model with combining ground and urban boundary-layer height measurement based Radio Environment Database is proposed to estimate the received power of PU signal.
