Computer Machine Control Language Development

This paper presents the architecture, structure, and general development of a computer machine control language. A specific language development is presented for a general purpose educational robot. The machine control primitives are identified and defined. The necessary functional control of the robot is identified and the primitives are used to derive secondary control expressions at a higher level. The utility of the higher level language is used for support, control, sensing, and development, while the machine primitive manipulation is delegated to lower levels of the language hierarchy. This approach to developing the computer control software bridges the gap between the convenience and efficiency of the high level user support and the labor of manipulating the machine control and sensing primitives.
