The video interface to high speed optical data transfer network

This paper describes the initial research and prototype design of the Video Interface to High Speed Optical Data Transfer Network. Image compression technique is used in order to increase network capacity. The Video Interface acquires video signals, compresses them, and sends out the packets of data to the communication channel. It also accepts compressed data from the communication channel, decompresses them, and drives the video monitor.
