End-to-End Performance of ATM and Private Broadband Networks

We describe a simulation study on four different network topologies which include fixed, 53-bytes, cell-size networks (ATM) and Variable Length Cell-size (VLC) networks. The main objective is the performance comparison of the two network types with respect to the mean end-to-end packet delay. We also investigate several ways of interconnecting ATM and VLC networks with the goal of minimizing packet delay.
