Online teaching: A comparison of on-ground, online, & facebook-linked teaching

This paper highlights the importance of using a multidisciplinary approach in online classrooms, and how the use of social media, such as Facebook establishes a learner-centered environment with a clear focus on what is taught, why it is taught, and what competencies are expected. When the learning environment is learner-centered, it enables the educators to recognize the students' preconceptions, the levels of learning, and the rates of progress. An individual's learning is influenced in fundamental ways by the context in which it takes place; thus, the inclusion of research and the advent of online teaching have provided the freedom for learners to engage in whatever they desire by connecting with other learners in real time. The powerful effect of the combination of research and online studies with the latest technological tools, including the use of social media such as Facebook are confirmed through the given results.
