On the Bose-Trautman condition for stability of two-dimensional linear systems

In this correspondence, we give a counterexample that shows that the Bose-Trautman condition for the stability of 2-D linear models is incorrect. The correction and equivalent conditions are given, together with simple proofs from non-negative matrix theory.
