Study of Key Parameters and Cryogenic Vessel Structure of 10-MW Salient-Pole Wind Turbine HTS Generators

A 10-MW wind turbine high temperature superconductor (HTS) synchronous generator operating at 68 K is modeled according to the optimized parameter, and the magnetic flux density (MFD) in various generator parts is simulated. Two key parameters of field leakage coefficient and operating field current are determined based on the MFD simulation results. Moreover, as the cryogenic component, a basic vessel structure used for cooling HTS field coils is proposed, and the required cooling power for heat loads and coolant flow rate are derived.
