Experiences in distance learning from a student's perspective

Presents the author's experiences as an online class participant. This paper presents a discussion of the current scholarly research on the impact of technology in education, particularly postgraduate work. It provides a brief overview of the format of the online classes which were experienced, i.e. approximate class size, class style, academic requirements, class participation and exam format. The paper also presents the author's personal, anecdotal observations, comparing online learning to 'live' classroom learning experiences. The author concludes with a discussion of the impacts of technology on the graduate learning experience and possible research topic directions.
