Wideband channel modeling for line-of-sight microcellular environment with low base station antenna height

In high-speed wireless data transmission, the most significant problem is severe frequency-selective fading. Consequently, obtaining information on the propagation delay is very important and precise modeling of a radio channel is essential in designing mobile multimedia communications systems. Empirical wideband channel models with a low base station antenna are proposed for the line-of-sight microcellular environment. The models determine the delay spread, shape of delay profiles, and instantaneous fluctuations for delayed waves. Using these models the sole information needed to generate instantaneous complex delay profiles is the distance between the base station and the mobile unit.
