Design and implementation of a Ka-band corrugated feed horn for reflector antennas

This paper presents the relationship between Gaussian beam and reflector antennas and deals with the most important conical corrugated feed horn design parameters for reflector antennas. Furthermore, a compact, easily to manufacture and easily to frequency-scale conical corrugated horn with more than 40% relative bandwidth is proposed. The hybrid-mode (HE
₁₁
) conical corrugated feed horn operating from 26.5 to 40GHz has been designed, fabricated and measured.
