Improved management decisionmaking using optimization of a nonlinear mixed-integer financial model

A nonlinear mixed-integer financial model and optimization algorithm are described which support management decisions for one defense contractor. Counterintuitive insights have been uncovered which improve financial performance at less cost and with greater confidence than traditional alternatives. Normal search routines would have been unlikely to uncover these insights.
