Versatile exponential time-function generator using two sample-hold circuits

A circuit using two sample-hold stages is described for generating a large variety of pulse functions such as: 1) a single major transition consisting of a staircase where the step magnitudes are either exponentially decreasing, or exponentially increasing, or as a special case, they are equal; 2) a pulse burst consisting of pulse waveforms where their amplitudes are either exponentially decreasing, or exponentially increasing, or as a special case, they are equal. The paper gives the equation and describes a practical circuit.
