Optimization of wavelength converter in WDM networks using genetic algorithm

The WDM network can be made flexible by use of wavelength converters that transform data on a wavelength to another wavelength. In this paper, we propose a technique to locate the optimal nodes with converter using genetic algorithm such that overall call blocking probability is minimized.
