Abstract:

New screening methods for the evaluation of hearing loss are based on simulation of real life situations. That means voice communication in presence of environmental noise. Because of that, the continuous speech is used as a stimulus rather than isolated words or logatoms. The speech stimuli is masked by different types of noise. The problem with these hearing loss measurement methods is that can not be standardized. The test sentences must be created for each language. Although the testing procedure itself is very simple, the process of creating a test sentence has a lot of problems. One of these problems is a way of masking, i.e. making environmental noise.
