Induction motor control for electric vehicle application using low resolution position sensor and sensorless vector control technique

In this paper an induction motor drive for electric vehicle applications is proposed. The system joins a robust very low resolution position sensor with both an instantaneous speed observer algorithm and a sensorless technique, achieving satisfactory speed identification and control. Simulation results show that the proposed system offers promising performances in the whole set of significant operating conditions.
