Who's interpreting the truth-the human brain or technology

The future of video as an aid to policing is very much tied up with the need to have a well considered, but flexible management policy which recognises and addresses current problems but is sufficiently adaptable to cope with any future developments both in numerical and technical complexity. This is why it is now inappropriate to refer to video as a separate entity of visual recording. It is simply one of a number of systems for which we must use the term "imaging" in order to embrace them all. There is one on-going development in this field that is constant, it is that of "systems integration" of imaging mediums: video; still photography; computers; thermal; infra red etc. Whilst individually important, collectively they provide many different dimensions to the way we see and interpret an image and in turn what evidence is obtainable from it. This a very important issue in the judicial process because it is the end product which each of us is striving for. Put simply-is an image saying what you think it is.
