The X-29: is it coming or going?

It is a weird-looking aircraft, with the wing swept forward instead of back, and it may be the most unstable modern jet yet built. Designed to fly and maneuver at transonic speeds - equal or close to the speed of sound - the experimental aircraft relies on a highly complex system of digital computers to assist the pilot.
