Pascal is a 'natural' [for microprocessor software programs]

The rapid replacement of hard-wired logic with programmable microprocessors is forcing electronic designers to search for less costly ways of writing, maintaining and updating microprocessor software programs. Most programmers at Texas Instruments feel that writing in a high-level language (HLI) is one effective way to cut costs and that this is particularly true of a language like Pascal, which lends itself to top-down structuring.
