Systematically Designed PCW Bends With Very Large Bandwidth and High Transmission: An Experimental Demonstration

We report our experimental demonstration of ultra-wide bandwidth photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) bends. The reported bends have 58-nm more guiding bandwidth than a simple bend. The high transmission window for these demonstrated bends covers the complete single-mode frequency range of the PCW.
