Dynamic routing of protected optical paths in wavelength routed and wavelength translated networks

This paper investigates the influence of end-to-end protection on the wavelength conversion gain in all-optical networks under dynamic traffic conditions. Dedicated protection is compared with shared protection, and three routing algorithms are analysed.
